五、曰磨轉心不轉。
5th saying: The millstone turns, the heart-mind (xin) does not turn

磨轉者。
即喻腰轉。
“The millstone turns” refers to the yao turning.


心不轉者。
乃氣沉丹田之中定也。
“the xin does not turn” refers to the zhong ding that results from sinking the qi to the dantien.


按磨轉心不轉者。
此家傳口訣也。
The saying “millstone turns, xin doesn’t turn”
is a formula in the family secret transmission.


比諸拳論所謂。
腰如车轴。
腰為纛二語。
尤為顯赫。
Compare it to two sayings from the boxing texts (quan lun):
yao is like an axle” and “yao acts as the banner” .
This is particularly important.

餘得此意後。
自覺功夫日見進境。
After I achieved this idea (yi),
I became aware of daily progress in my gongfu.
